2004-05-01 COMMON Spring, San Antonio, Texas, May 2-6

Meet the iSeries2web Team – visit booth #100 at the COMMON Spring 2004 Conference & Expo in San Antonio, Texas during May 2-6, 2004. Download overview. Book a meeting.

At booth #100 Framework Systems will display the web engine iSeries2web and introduce new ideas and methods to reengineer and upgrade existing business critical iSeries applications without leaving the RPG platform. The exhibition program includes live programming examples – i.e. how an existing ERP system (in RPG code) can be converted into a web integrated ERP system – together with ideas to code e-business solutions with RPG and a simple web-editor giving developers the means to focus on the business logic instead of learning new programming languages.

More information about the exhibition can be found at http://www.common.org/Conferences/conf.html. Contact the iSeries2web Team for exhibition specific details.

Framework Systems will give an introduction to the new ideas and methods to reengineer and upgrade existing business critical iSeries applications without leaving the RPG platform. The presentation "Reengineering RPG for the Web" will be given at the COMMON Spring 2004 Conference & Expo in San Antonio, Texas during May 2-6, 2004.

Title:

Reengineering RPG for the Web

Location:

Room 212B, Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center, San Antonio, Texas

Date:

Thursday, 6th May 2004, 12:30 PM – 1:45 PM

Speaker:

Abstract
Developers on the RPG platform face a number of challenges since iSeries end-users demand GUI, multiple on-screen languages, browser integration and e-business solutions not always supported by their existing applications. New ideas and methods to reengineer and upgrade existing business critical iSeries applications without leaving the RPG platform are now at hand. The session includes live programming examples – i.e. how an existing ERP system (in RPG code) was converted into a web integrated ERP system – together with ideas to code e-business solutions with RPG and a simple web-editor giving programmers the means to focus on the business logic instead of learning new programming languages.

About the Speaker
Jesper Schmidt Nielsen is Co-founder and R&D Manager in Framework Systems A/S. He holds a Business IT degree from Business College, Copenhagen, Denmark and has 15 years of business experience from international companies ranging from programmer, system designer to project manager (Web, ERP, MRP systems and e-business for iSeries).
